Cerita Pelabuhan Dendang, Kabarnya Lalu Lintas Kapal Angkut Muatan Barang Milik Kerajaan Balok Tempo Doeloe

DENDANG: Pelabuhan Dendang memang tak sekadar aktivitas bongkar muat barang kelontong atau aneka barang lainnya. Namun pelabuhan ini rupanya memiliki ikatan sejarah yang sudah lama. Salah satunya, pelabuhan ini sempat disinggahi kapal yang bermuatan kegiatan aktivitas barang muatan barang kebutuhan untuk kerajaan-kerajaan di Belitung yang pernah ada tempo doeloe.

Konon kabarnya, pintu masuk pelabuhan ini merupakan jalur lalu lintas kapal-kapal kerajaan Balok sejak abad ke 17. Dan mungkin banyak yang masih mereka-reka terhadap pelabuhan dendang ini yang lokasinya tak jauh dengan di tempat berada di Teluk Balok. Pelabuhan Dendang berada di Ujung Tenggara yang terletak 7 Kilometer dari area situs Makam Balok dan pusat pemerintahan kerajaan Balok tempo doeloe.

Menurut cerita, konon para leluhur di kala itu menyebut pelabuhan dendang dulunya pusat aktivitas bongkar muat barang atau tempat persinggahan kapal ketika keberadaan kerajaan di pulau Belitong tengah berkuasa. Secara khusus, misalnya. Kerajaan Balok memanfaatkan pelabuhan dendang ini menjadi tempat persinggahan untuk membawa barang-barang mereka sebagai barang khusus kerajaan.,

Memang hingga kini belum ada tertulis yang tertulis menyebutkan peran pelabuhan Dendang pada masa lalu. Namun perlu dicermati dalam-dalam, pelabuhan Dendang berada di kawasan Teluk Balok yang pada abad ke 17 menjadi masuk kerajaan Balok. Kuatnya, hal itu juga didukung dengan Dendang memang lebih dekat dengan Jakarta dibandingkan dengan Tanjungpandan dan Manggar. Dan besar kemungkinan pelabuhan Dendang menjadi alternative utama jalur perdagangan keluar daerah.

Dekat dengan Sunda Kelapa
Memang saja, dipilihnya pelabuhan Dendang ketika itu untuk aktivitas bongkar muat barang kerajaan ditenggarai adalah persoalan dekatnya kawasan sunda kelapa (Jakarta).

Dibandingkan dengan di pelabuhan yang ada di Belitung dan Beltim ketika itu, pelabuhan ini lebih dekat dengan Sunda Kelapa. “Kalau dihitung-hitung dari Jakarta ke Pelabuhan Dendang paling memerlukan waktu 5 Jam,” kata Idai, salah seorang warga Dendang yang biasa melakukan aktivitas di sekitar pelabuhan dan beberapa warga yang sempat dihimpun trawangnews.com.

Bisa Menjadi wisata sejarah dan Laut
Melihat keberadaan dermaga pelabuhan Dendang saat ini, ada sebuah dermaga tempat asik untuk menikmati panorama matahari terbenam. Orang yang duduk di dermaga akan menjadi objek yang bagus bagi para pemotret. Dermaga ini terlihat indah pada pagi hari ketika air laut yang jernih mengenangi bagian bawahnya. Atau ketika senja dengan langit merah cakrawala memberi siluet dermaga di latar depan.

Ada perasaan senang bila sempat mampir ke dermaga pelabuhan ini, ditemani matahari yang sebentar sembunyi dibalik awan. Idealnya, pelabuhan ini sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan sebagai tempat singgah bagi para wisatawan atau pengunjung untuk menyaksikan dermaga ini sebagai tempat lalu lintas dulunya bagi kerajaan di Belitung memerintah. Dengan dermaga ini, serta ada sebagian hutan bakau yang rimbun tentunya sangat layak dikembangkan sebagai objek wisata di Belitung Timur, letaknya di Kecamatan Dendang.
